How do Green Key venues stand out?
Businesses with the Green Key label pursue an ambitious sustainability policy. They do everything they can to:
- use less water, gas and electricity;
- avoid waste and sort it correctly;
- putting organic and local products on the menu;
- maintaining their green spaces without pesticides.
What does guesthouse ’t Blauwe Schaap do?
- Our electricity is generated by solar panels.
- Our water is also heated electrically and therefore using the solar panels.
- We sort our waste meticulously and try to use as little plastic as possible. Green waste goes to the chickens or the compost heap.
- Energy consumption is monitored to identify areas for improvement.
- The products we use to keep everything clean carry an eco-label.
- We do our own laundry so that the bed linen does not have to go to a launderette where it is cleaned using chemical agents.
- Even if we don’t make it ourselves (jam, yoghurt and sometimes bread), we try to provide breakfast using as many local and/or organic products as possible.
